The Rivers in Nepal



Nepal is the second rich country in water resources in the world.There are many rivers in Nepal.The main rivers of Nepal are Karnali,Koshi,Bheri,Rapti,Mahakali,Narayani, Gandaki,Bagmati,Mechi and Chamelia etc.All big River has many tributaries.Karnali is the longest river of Nepal,Koshi is the biggest and Narayani is the deepest.Most of the rivers in Nepal start from mountains and flow towards india.
Rivers are very useful in our country.We can irrigate our agro farms and run many hydroelectricity projects by using river”s water.If we utilize the complete water power to produce electricity,our country can speed up its pace of development. Similarly,the rivers provide us with water to drink,wash clothes.To some extend,the power of the rivers can be used for transportation for instance,carrying goods from one place to another on boats,Furthermore,the rivers can be used for entertainment such as rafting,boating and swimming etc.and we can develop our tourist trade by utilizing rivers properly.Many tourists come here to entertain boating and rafting.The rivers have been made regional boundries for political and administrative purpose.Thus the rivers in Nepal area highly advantageous.During rainy seasons,these rivers get over-flooded,and destroy the field,bridge,building and sometime animal.Unfortunately,sometime people also killed in the floods.
